FAQs

Where are you located? Do you travel outside of Vancouver?
I am located in East Vancouver; however, I will travel anywhere in the world to capture your day. Travel fees are included in the Greater Vancouver area within 50km.
I like what I have seen on your website. How do I find out more?
I am always open to answering questions. Please use the contact form to begin the process. I typically ask clients to answer a short questionnaire to learn more and better assist in forming a quote. I also provide more specific FAQs for the area of work in question that may not be answered on this page.
I’m ready to book. How do I do that?
You can email me to secure your date with a 50% deposit and sign a contract or work order. I accept card payments via quickbooks, paypal or e-transfers.
What is your deposit process?
Everyone pays 50% of the confirmed estimate quoted, which becomes non-refundable within 14 days of the date secured. The remaining amount is due upon completion. Larger projects or commercial work may have a different payment plan and process that will be made clear in the work order.
Will I get a confirmation or a receipt after I've booked?
Yes, you will get a copy of the contract for your records and a receipt for the deposit, along with an invoice for the remaining dues.
What happens after I book?
I will provide a customised handout with details that may be needed for your project, and I'll also be available for any other support you may need. I'll also lay out the steps after the project date and delivery process.
You offer Photography and Videography. How does this work? Will it always be you working with us?
It will always be me when booking a specific service (Photography or Videography). I can also split the time evenly to do both for the same event. If, however, you want a dedicated photographer and videographer, I can either hire someone to work with me during the event as a second shooter, and all editing will go through me, or I am happy for you to choose someone else.
What experience do you have with pets?
I've grown up throughout my life with animals, including cats, dogs, birds, rabbits and reptiles and a good understanding of how to handle them with care. I have experience working with puppies, trained dogs and reactive dogs too.
Do you do set posing and provide direction with your photography?
Most of my family, lifestyle, event and wedding photography is shot in a documentary style that captures moments as they happen, and I allow the time to feel comfortable. I do, however, offer direction when we want to get some more formal photos.
What if your gear breaks or something goes wrong?
I will always have backup gear and a selection of equipment for any situation that may arise to ensure consistent and reliable work.  I always make sure my equipment is clean and in the best working order before any shoot.
How do you protect our photos? Do you delete them after?
I have at least four copies of your images to ensure there is no loss during the editing process. We retain at least one copy archived for 6 months, after which it is deleted.
How long will it take to receive our photography?
This can depend on how many I took and whether it is peak season.  Portraits, pets and engagement photography will be ready within 4 weeks, and wedding/event images within 8 weeks. I provide a sneak-peek selection within the first two weeks of all projects.
Larger/longer-term projects and commercial work may differ, and an eta or deadlines will be set in place.
Do you provide us with a digital copy of the images? Do you offer prints and frames?
All our packages include a full-resolution copy of your photographs with the rights to personal printing only.  I don't offer a printing or framing service, but I can help with this process if needed.
Note - rights and usage differ for commercial projects.
Do you have insurance and a business licence?
I carry a business licence for Vancouver and a general liability policy and can provide proof for venues.
